Administration OCR Diploma - Level 2 at Dudley College

Course description

This qualification recognises learners' understanding of administrative functions and activities. It aims to accredit learners' abilities to carry out a range of administrative tasks autonomously and has been designed to accredit their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the work context.

Course content

This course will teach you the skills and knowledge you will need to find employment in an office environment or progress to another qualification. On the course you will learn about:

• Working in an administration environment and team work
• Writing business documents
• Organising business travel and accommodation
• Organising meetings and handling diary systems

You will have access to a range of industrial links including Pertemps and Dudley MBC, as well as experience working in the administration office at college. You will also take additional qualifications in touch typing and IT.

Entry requirements

You must attend an interview with the course tutor and hold one of the following:

Three GCSE’s at grade D and a grade 4 in English or mathematics
OR
Diploma in Administration/Business Level 1 and functional skills Level 1

You must also achieve Level 1 or above during English initial assessment. If you have practical work experience but no formal qualifications you will be considered following an interview with the course tutor

Assessment

You will be assessed by a mix of internal assessments an external examinations.

There is no need to worry about the costs of coming to college as there is lots of financial help available. Our finance and welfare officers will be able to talk to you about any help that may be available to you based on your individual circumstances.

Students aged 16-18 attending a full-time further education course can apply to the 16-18 Bursary Fund for help with college related costs. Free BUS PASS

 

We will provide a free bus pass to help with travel costs for 16-18* year olds on full-time programmes, based on individual circumstances**. To qualify for a free bus pass***, you must live more than one mile from the campus at which you will be studying and not already be in receipt of other financial support, such as Care to Learn funding.

 

*Under 19 as at 31 August 2017.

 

**Students with learning difficulties or disabilities who are unable to access public transport may still be able to receive help – talk to our Student Finance team.

 

***Evidence of family income will need to be provided.
