Art at William De Ferrers School

Course description

Fine Art refers to the visual explorations of ideas, meanings and feelings at a personal level and also in the wider context of their social, historical and cultural connections.

The area of study is broad to enable students to explore and develop their understanding of the formal elements in a variety of media. Students endeavour to work independently and have freedom to develop and communicate meaning through their exploration and experimentation. They are expected to research thoroughly in order to develop informed opinions and critical judgements about their own work and other artists.
