Brief Course Content

The BTEC Performing Arts course is perfect for students who enjoy both acting and production of performance.  The course is based around practical activities supported by an ongoing actors' log.  It also allows you to experience a wide range of performance techniques, develop creativity, work as part of a team and share ideas and opinions.  You will develop your practical ability, as well as your critical and evaluative skills throughout the course. 

Over the course you will take part in devising, TIE performances, script work, comtemporary and historical performance and you will be creating work throughtout the course to perform to an audience.  The course is assessed through both practical and written work.  It is 100% coursework.

Progression

The BTEC National Award is recognised and accepted by Universities for course in all aspects of the Performing Arts and would be welcomed by employers in the arts field.  Many of our past students have gone on to University both locally and away from home to study Drama.

Entry requirements

By Negotiation

GCSE Drama at Grade C or above, English Grade C or above.
