Public Services Diploma Level 2 at Leeds City College

Course description

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the field further, working with West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and British Armed Forces.

You will develop knowledge of why public service professionals exist and why these sectors are integral to society. The importance of physical fitness combined with teamwork and theory is essential for you to progress in this sector.

Course content

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 3 or D including English and maths.

All candidates must have a genuine interest in working in the emergency services or armed forces, be prepared to participate in physical activities, work in a team, overcome personal challenges and have an enthusiastic approach to learning.


You will be assessed through coursework and assignments.

As part of your coursework you will be required to submit evidence of your learning. Evidence will include videos, presentations, practical demonstrations and written work.

Future opportunities

Advice on careers and further study will be given during the course.

After successful completion of the course, students may seek employment or an apprenticeship in the public sector or apply for a level 3 course in Public Services.
