Sport, Coaching and Fitness BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Boldon School
BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications. They give students the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare them for employment or further learning. It is broadly equivalent to 3 A Levels.
There is potential for the qualification to prepare students for employment or apprenticeship in the health and social care sector, or to progress into higher education at college or university.
These progression areas include careers in exercise and fitness, coaching, teaching, sports development and the outdoors.
Bolden School is recognised as a Specialist Sports College and is well equipped with outstanding facilities that include; a well-equipped fitness suit, swimming pool, gymnasium, sports hall and floodlit all-weather pitches.
Our Martin Gray Football Academy welcomes all our Post-16 sports students to the team. You will gain regular hands on leadership and coaching experience that will enhance any future application for employment, College or University.
The course is 100% coursework, made up of mandatory and optional units. The assignments for all units must be completed to pass the course. There are no external exams.

At least five GCSEs at grade A*-C or BTEC Level 2 in Sport. Students will continue to study English and Maths if they have not achieved GCSE grade C or above.
