Advising on Financial Products – Financial Advice Route Intermediate Apprenticeship at Colchester Institute
This course is designed to give you the relevant training and education required to work within the financial services environment. It is aimed at those who are involved in financial services as their primary work activity and have the ability to carry out a range of routine tasks in their role.
The course combines learning through practical and theory sessions at College is teamed with work-based experience and covers
Certificate in Customer Service Level 2. Modules include:
- Principles of Working in a Customer Service Role
- Presenting a Positive Image
- Problem Solving
City & Guilds Certificate in Providing Financial Services. Units include:
- Planning and Organising Work in a Financial Services Environment
- Complying with Regulations Within the Financial Services Environment
- Debt Repayment Monitoring
- Payment Processing
- Debt Collection Case Management (Pre-legal)
- Banks and Building Societies
- General Insurance
- Life, Pensions and Investment
- Financing and Credit
As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths.
Functional Skills Level 1, or 3 GCSEs (grades A* – C) including English and maths. ICT is also desirable.Candidates should be working in an appropriate insurance services role. They will need to be committed to their study and be responsible for their own learning. Learners will be required to attend an interview with the work based learning team and be asked to complete basic skills assessments in literacy and numeracy. Learners on this course are required to be employed in a suitable work placement providing the required experience to gain the qualifications for their NVQ.
Career pathways may include progression to senior advisory roles.
Possible progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
