Performing Arts at Dyson Perrins CofE Academy

Course description

Performing Arts is a versatile and exciting subject at A Level. Within the course, students have the opportunity to develop skills across the art forms as well as explore technical theatre and the ‘behind-the-scenes’ jobs within the industry. Students have ownership of events and ample performance opportunities.
In the AS units students learn about:
Unit 1 - Exploring Skills for Performance
Unit 2 - Planning for an Event
Unit 3 - Performing to a Commission In the A2 units students learn about:
Unit 4 - Employment Opportunities in the Performing Arts
Unit 5 - Advanced Performance Practice
Unit 6 - Advanced Production Practice
Unit 7 - Production Delivery

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade A*-C which might include GCSE in Drama, Dance or Music * Grade related qualifications in Dance,Drama or MusicStudents should also have an interest in developing broad skills, knowledge and understanding based on the practical needs and concerns of the performing arts industry.
