Electrical Installations (Building and Structures 2365) - Level 2 Diploma (City and Guilds) at Blackpool and The Fylde College

Course description

This course is aimed at those who missed the opportunity of an electrical apprenticeship on leaving school or who have attended sixth form education and now would like to pursue a career in the electrical installation industry through a JTL Apprenticeship.

The course provides a balance of practical activities undertaken in the electrical installation workshops and the necessary theory of electrical installation for the City and Guilds Technical Certificate Level 2. Because the course is designed to prepare students to join the JTL Apprenticeship scheme, it is aimed at applicants of 16-18 years of age.

Entry requirements

School leavers seeking a career in the electrical installations industry require 2 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English or are successful in passing the JTL electrical apprenticeship initial assessment.  In all cases, a successful colour vision examination is also required.

Functional skills exam or Developmental Maths and English.
