Dance Level 2 Extended Certificate at Leeds City College

Course description

On this course you will develop your technique, choreography, performance and dance theory skills by taking part in a range of classes, workshops and projects.

You will be involved in two major performance pieces over the year where you will showcase your performance skills providing you with experience of working in a professional environment.

Entry requirements

You need to be 16 or over and have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D. If you are part of the new grading system for GCSE we would see a Grade 3 or above as the equivalent of a Grade D in this offer.

Practical/creative skills are to be of a good level. 

All applicants will attend an audition and interview at the Park Lane Campus. 


This Level 2 qualification is assessed via a combination of internal assessment, where tasks are set and marked by your tutors, and external assessment which includes a written exam/test.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto a Level 3 course in Dance, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts. This will equip you to go on to university, dance school or into the professional industry.

Further information

English and Maths will be buit into your course if your grades are below 4/5.
