Barista Skills City and Guilds Award Level 2 at Waltham Forest College

Course description

This course is for anyone who would like to learn how to produce a range of hot and cold drinks including cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, hot chocolate, smoothies and many more.

You will be trained to use an espresso coffee machine, coffee grinder and a range of other equipment providing you with the skills required to prepare these drinks to a high standard.

Course content

Foam milk to produce the perfect drink
Learn how to skilfully use equipment
Presentation skills
Customer service skills 
Produce a range of classic coffees
Garnish and present drinks to perfection
Cleaning and maintenance of professional Barista equipment

Future opportunities

This is a recognised industry qualification for Barista Skills Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Catering.
This qualification could lead towards employment within the catering and hospitality industry.

      Trains run to Walthamstow Central from Liverpool Street station (a bus can then be taken to the College, see below). Wood Street station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the College.

      The Victoria Line ends at Walthamstow Central, which is approximately a 15-minute walk to the College. Alternatively, you can get a bus, see below.

      Bus:

      From Walthamstow Central:Bus 275 stops outside the College, 212 stops across the road from the College (Shernhall Street). Buses 97, 357, 34 or 215 stop at the 'Bell Corner' (junction of Hoe Street and Forest Road). From here, the College is approximately five-minute walk.

      From Blackhorse Road Tube Station: Bus 123 also stops outside the College on route between Tottenham and Ilford
