Children’s Play, Learning and Development (Early Years Educator) BTEC Level 3 at Bishop Burton College

Course description

This is a placement-based programme, with students developing essential skills such as observation, assessment and problem-solving. The focus is on developing the practical approaches needed to work in the sector through work experience. You’ll build your caring and communication skills, your confidence in working with young children and their families, your understanding of child development and your team-working skills.

A range of pathways are available, dependent on your qualifications.

  • One-year Extended Certificate
  • One-year Foundation Diploma
  • Two-year Diploma
  • Two-year Extended Diploma.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade A* to C, preferably including English and Maths at grades Nine to Four, or a relevant BTEC Level Two / First diploma or equivalent. A satisfactory reference and clear Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check are also required.
