French A2 level at Clapton Girls' Academy
Students will develop awareness of social, political and cultural issues in the countries where French is spoken, as well as develop their communication and thinking skills at a higher level.
The themes studied at A-level are immigration, the world nowadays, the environment and two cultural topics; this can be a French-speaking film, the life of a French-speaking painter, an area of France, etc.
A*-A grade in GCSE French.
Both AS and A-level will be assessed on your reading, listening, writing and speaking skills.
Modern foreign languages are ‘facilitating’ subjects and so the best universities are always looking for students who have taken a foreign language at A-level. Language skills are in demand and there are many professions where languages are a necessary skill; finance, law, sales and marketing, transport, tourism and leisure, publishing and translations, teaching and the civil services as well as businesses that trade internationally.
