Diploma in Performing Arts at Level 2 (Acting) at Coleg Sir Gar

This course, which is equivalent to four or five GCSEs at grade C or above, will enable students to gain experience and knowledge in the performing arts area. Students will be involved in a variety of performance projects working on their acting, singing and dance skills. Recent performances include: ETHER (a site-specific performance in Newton House, Llandeilo) and UNDER MILKWOOD by Dylan Thomas (Graig Theatre, Llanelli).
BTEC Level 1 Certificate OR a standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four GCSEs at grades D-G OR related work experience OR other related level 1 or 2 qualifications. All applicants will need to audition and be interviewed.
The course is continuously assessed through a combination of coursework and practical projects.
BTEC Level 2 diplomas and certificates offer direct progression (through interview and audition) on to BTEC level 3 programmes. On completion of a BTEC level 3, students can progress on to a foundation degree, honours degree programme and/or drama school. A BTEC level 2 also gives students other skills such as communcation, confidence, team building and self awareness
