The potential job roles for those working towards this qualification are: Fashion Buyer, Visual Merchandiser, Stock Controller, Management position in Fashion Retail outlet. The course is 1 year in length. You will learn customer service, brand awareness, retail Design, fashion Display.
What will I be doing on the course?
How to design retail fashion displays, which will include drawing skills. You will also learn business skills associated with the retail sector. Your course will include a work experience placement with a fashion retailer.
- 136 GCSE points including a minimum GCSE English Language grade D and a minimum GCSE Mathematics grade D
- Or a L1 Vocational Diploma at Merit level and Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications or GCE English Language and Maths qualifications at grade D
- Evidence of interest and ability in art and design
You will be assessed each through practical assignments. The final term’s assessment will be in the form of a self -chosen project, which is externally assessed.
You can progress onto a L3 course in Display and Visual Merchandising where you may choose to focus or you can progress directly to an apprenticeship or employment.
You will continue to work towards achieving GCSE English and Maths
You will receive group and individual tutorial support
You will undertake independent learning and study
You will undertake work experience, work on commissions from employers and have the opportunity to go on a variety of trips and visits.
