English Literature AQA AS Level at LBTS6 - Lilian Baylis Technology School

Course description

This course centres on different ways of reading and the connections that exist between texts within a literary genre. In this way, students gain a solid understanding of how texts can be connected and how they can be interpreted in multiple ways.

Course content

AS level Units:

Unit 1: Literary Genres

Unit 2: Aspects of Comedy

Entry requirements

Students require a minimum of 5 A*-B grades at GCSE or equivalent, including a B grade or above in English and Mathematics.

Assessment

Unit 1:. 1hr 30min written exam

Unit 2: 1hr 30min open book written exam

Future opportunities

This course is widely accepted as an entrance qualification to study English or any other Arts or Humanities subject at University. It is also a valuable qualification for a number of future careers, especially those in the Media and Business industries.
