Practical Cookery Course at Burton Borough School

Course description

The course will help to develop students' confidence in planning and organising their work, communicating and working effectively with others and evaluating their own performance. Students always know what they like to eat, this course will give students the opportunity to investigate where food comes from - not just Supermarkets, they will visit farm shops/ markets, choose foods to try, foods never tasted before, broadening horizons! Students will also develop a coffee shop to serve College staff, the money made will be used to explore the food industry e.g. visiting The Good Food show in Birmingham and various food suppliers.

Entry requirements

Predicted SAT Scores 3 or below, good tutor or school report and an interview.

Progression to Level 1 Foundation programmes, Foundation Diploma Level 1, NVQ Level 1, Basic Skills Level 1, NOCN Level 1, C&G Level 1 in related subject
