Psychology AS and A Level at Ripley St Thomas CE Academy

Course description

Students gain understanding of research techniques both as participant and experimenter. Psychology studies the individual but also the way a group can influence the dynamics of a situation. A variety of methods are used to teach this subject such as practical activities, independent research, group discussion, lectures, and extended written work.

Psychology is a science subject, which combines well with any other discipline. It is accepted by some medical courses as a third science A Level. However, it also combines well with Humanities subjects as it appeals to students with a general interest in people and their behaviour. Popular combinations are with Sociology, History, English, Geography and Business Studies
