Business Administration Level 3 Diploma at Walsall College

Course description

A flexible course designed to help you develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare for an administration role. Study units can be chosen that best fit indvidual needs and levels of achievement.

It will provide students with an introduction to the business and administration environment and will give them the opportunity to develop essential knowledge such as: personal responsibilities, working with and supervising others, managing information and producing documents and providing and maintaining administrative services.

Entry requirements

By interview and initial assessment. Applicants must have gained 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (to include English Language) or a Level 2 equivalent qualification.


OCR courses are assessed using a range of methods which include the following:

Assignments will vary in length and complexity so assessment criteria will reflect this. Common skills are seen as an integral part of the course and all briefs and course work will include appropriate common skills and competence objectives. These formative assessments will be used to arrive at a final grade.

Some assignments will require group presentation, and as part of common skills peer group assessment via discussion will take place.

Portfolio reviews, involving several members of the course team, will be used to continuously monitor your progress throughout the course. Formal assessments will include members from the course team and, if appropriate, external verifiers.

Future opportunities

Progression to the HNC/HND in Business, The Certificate in Human Resources Practice, university or employment.
