Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 at The Hazeley Academy

Course description

This is a two year course designed to develop knowledge and understanding required in health and social care sectors. This is a modular course, enabling students to learn in bite-sized chunks to suit individual learning styles. Students will study 8 units, which consist of 6 mandatory units and 2 optional. 3 of these units are assessed externally through exams; the other units are assessed internally through coursework.

The mandatory units are: Human Life Span and Development; Working in Health and Social Care; Enquiries into current research in Health and Social Care; Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs; Principles of Safe Practice in Health and Social Care; Promoting Public Health.

Entry requirements

Students must have achieved 5 A*-C at GCSE.

Future opportunities

This course provides the opportunity for students to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. It is designed to provide you with a specialist work-related qualification. This course is perfectly suited to anyone interested in working within the Health and Social Care sector occupations, such as paramedic science, physiotherapy, nursing, midwifery, social work, occupational therapy, counseling and teaching.
