Course description

Chemistry is an exploration of the study of matter; the composition of substances, their properties and reactions, from how you are put together to making the medicines that make you feel better.

The OCR Chemistry course has a large emphasis on the application of knowledge to real life examples, making it relevant and stimulating.  The practical element of the course will allow you to apply your understanding and learn the experimental skills required to be a great scientist!

5 A*-C passes at GCSE, with at least BB grades in Science at GCSE.  Maths grade B preferable

Chemistry leads onto a wide range of careers, it is essential if you wish to study any of the following at University: Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science/Nutrition, Forensic Science or Chemical Engineering. It is also highly recommended if you want study other engineering courses or biological sciences.
