Textiles A Level at Hornsey School for Girls

Course description

AS Level
Unit 1: Materials, Components & Application.
Unit 2: Learning Through Designing and Making. Students create a design portfolio and a product.

A2 Level
Unit 3: Design & Manufacture.
Unit 4: Design & Making Practice. Students create a design portfolio and a product

Entry requirements

You will need at least a GCSE grade C in Design as well as four C grades in other subjects, one preferably in English


Units 1 and 3 are assessed via exams and units 2 and 4 are via coursework.

Future opportunities

Studying Textiles at A Level is excellent preparation for any business or design course in addition to a career in Retail, Advertising, the Graphic Industry, Textiles, Marketing or Fashion Design.
