Construction Studies Preparation for Employment Certificate at Oaklands College

Course description

The course is a full time program that includes City & Guilds introduction to basic construction skills Level one, also you will undertake an Ascentis qaulification Preparation for Employment in the constuction industries (QCF) plus Functional Skills

Course content

You will learn how to complete basic brick work along with basic carpentry & joinery, plastering and rendering. You also will be working with plaster board to timber frame backgrounds.

Entry requirements

You will need grades E and above GCSE in maths and English

If you don't now what construction trade to follow then this course is for you we will take you through most aspects of construction trades

Assessment

You will be tasked to undertake trade relevent practical jobs after learning how to carry out the activity first. You will have to complete a little bit of theory for the Ascentis qualification plus a Functional Skills maths assessment towards the end of the year.

Financial information

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

On completion of multi trades you will have the opportunity to apply for a trade specific course in your chosen trade area
