Acting TV & Film Level 3 at North Kent College
The UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Acting TV/Film) is a brand new unique two-year training programme here at The Miskin Theatre.
Actors will collaborate closely with those on other Miskin programmes and work under intense conditions to learn the skills and discipline that their craft demands. Actors will perform in both stage plays and short films. The blend of the film acting focus with the critical foundations of stage technique will help the actor develop the skills and knowledge that are required in the industry.
Some of the areas covered throughout the course are- Movement, Voice, Acting for camera, Acting for the theatre, Improvisation and Audition Technique.
The Miskin will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking performer ready to take your first steps into the industry. You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including team work, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to meet targets.
This Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and maths skills as required. You will be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.
All assignments are modelled on professional practice, learners will also have the opportunity to participate in work experience including Front of House.
You will be required to attend an audition and interview where you will perform a monologue of your choice and will be asked to explain your commitment to acting and performing. You will also take part in a practical drama workshop on the day and you may
also be asked to read a script.
Qualifications - 5 GCSE grade C (4) and above, including English. Performing Arts Level 2 Equivalent at merit or above
Main assessment is through professionally relevant assignments. These are primarily practical units with supporting written work and documentation. Formal assessment will be required.
