Geography - A Level at Swanshurst School

Course description

The aim of this course is to build upon the human and physical geography studied at GCSE level whilst looking at current issues in a little more depth. Four modules are covered in this course: Global Challenges, Geographical Investigations, Contested Planet and Geographical Research. You will also be given the opportunity to attend a residential field course and work with other sixth form students. Students will also attend several field work days, visit many universities for Geography conferences. Within our own Geography department there is an extensive library of resources which can be borrowed by students for research purposes. Entry requirements

The AS Level Geography course is firstly open to any student achieving A-C in their Geography GCSE and will require at least 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above. Exam Board: www.edexcel.org.uk
