Business BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

Course description

This is a two-year course and is equivalent to three GCE A-Levels. It is designed for students interested in a career in Business which includes Accounting, Banking, Law, Marketing and Human Resources. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

The course provides a progression route to university. It is also highly valued by employers and can lead to employment and professional qualifications.

Course content

The course comprises of 18 units to be completed over two years; 9 units in year 1 and 9 units in year 2. There are 4 core (compulsory units) and 14 specialist units. All units are internally assessed using a variety of methods such as project-based assignments, presentations and time-constrained assessments.

Units will be individually graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction and an overall grade will be awarded on completion of the programme.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English and Maths

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Merit or Distinction plus GCSE English & Maths Grade C or above
