Media Studies AS and A level at Eastbrook Comprehensive School

Course description

This course is extremely popular in all Consortium Schools. The course aims to develop students understanding of the media in its various forms through critical and analytical as well as practical work. Areas of study include new media technologies, film, television, the press and radio. Students will also make their own new media, video and audio media products.  It is also possible to study an OCR National Award in Media Studies.  

Entry requirements

To Study the AS level course you will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSE’s at  grade ‘C’ including English and Maths. 

Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.  You will be required to complete independent research and study. You will need to complete all homework on time and to the required standard. You will also need to be able to work effectively as part of a team. You are expected to take responsibility for your revision and attend any support sessions which are offered when preparing for the examinations or coursework deadlines.
