Early Years Workforce CACHE Level 3 Diploma at Skills Team

Course description

This qualification prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with and care for children from birth to 5 years old and gain knowledge of children from 5 to 7 years.

It can be undertaken as part of a full time advanced apprenticeship scheme that includes paediatric first aid and ICT functional skills.

An entry requirement for the level 3 CACHE qualifications is GCSE English and maths at grade c or above.

Upon achievement of this programme learners will be able to enter the child care workforce as Early Years Educators.

Course content

Core Mandatory Units = 23 made up of 61 credits
The qualification is structured around the following four themes:
Theme 1 – Heath and well being
Theme 2 – Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
Theme 3 – Play, development and learning for school readiness
Theme 4 – Professional development

Placement hours for Early Years Educator
To achieve this qualification you will need to undertake a variety of placements and demonstrate experience with a variety of age groups.

We recommend that placements should be taken in at least two different settings to cover the recommended age ranges of 0–2 years, 2–3 years and 3 to 5 years of age.
