Level 2 Certificate in Performing Arts at Henley College Coventry

Course description

This course provides skills and knowledge in all aspects of theatre and performance and can be used to progress into higher level study, or as a foundation for your future career. It can provide you with the opportunity to study and develop skills in various aspects of performing arts.

Through live performances and a range of projects you will not only develop your technical skills, but your performance skills too. The course will give you the opportunity to gain experience and an understanding of what is needed to become a performer.

It will also help you decide whether you wish to study in industry, and prepare you for further training.

Things you will learn:

  • Acting Skills and Techniques Performing
  • Scripted Plays
  • The Development of Dance
  • Performing Dance
  • Performing Arts Business and Process in Industry Practice
  • Devising Plays
  • Musical Theatre
  • Developing Physical Theatre Performance.
  • Exploring Urban Dance.

You will also take part in a number of performances that are shown to staff, students, the local community and toured around Coventry and Warwickshire.

* If you have not already achieved a GCSE pass at grade C or above in English and Maths you will study Maths and/ or English as an integral part of your college programme.

Grading for GCSE English language, English literature and maths is changing from 2017, with other subjects following suit from 2018. Click here for more information.

Entry requirements

Portfolio of work plus 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 (D in the old grading structure) or above including one in an art-based subject and English or maths Relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE/Level 1 in English & maths.
