Education Electronics and Computer Engineering Level 3 Access to Higher at Newham College of Further Education

Course description

You will develop your knowledge and understanding of electronics, electricity and magnetism, computer programming, database, spreadsheets and web design. You will also learn about the mathematics of algebra, calculus and trigonometry. In addition to this you will develop the skills that are required for success in higher education. There will be practical sessions, assignments and group work. You will be continually assessed throughout the year. Independent study sessions run alongside more formal classes and, in your free time, you can use our extensive library, computer and multi-media facilities. You will also be presented with opportunities to join in a wide range of social activities.

Entry requirements

You must be at least 19 years old in order to apply for this course. It would be beneficial to have a Pre Access Qualification at level 2. If you do not have formal qualifications for entry, you will need to demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to study at level 3, as well as demonstrating level 2 abilities in communications and numeracy.

Future opportunities

You will be able to progress to a HND, Foundation Degree or Honours Degree course at university, with a focus on the subject of Electronic or Computer Engineering or a related field. On completion of your course you will receive a profile of credits that will reflect your suitability for your chosen HND or degree programme.
