Course description

Why study Music?

Course content

The course provides you with the opportunity to learn and/or enhance your performance and composition skills through a structured programme of learning.

It will cover the following:

  • Music performance techniques, one mandatory unit
  • Two optional units. 

Entry requirements

Stockton Sixth Form College prides itself on having options for students of different abilities, and would advise any prospective student interested in applying, whatever their predicted grades, to get in touch so that a suitable programme of study can be discussed.

The college has a flexible timetable whereby almost all combinations of subjects are possible. Students will be advised of any non-compatible subject choices, if appropriate, at enrolment.

Assessment

By continuous assessment. There are no exams.

Future opportunities

This course will enable you to progress onto higher education, seek employment into relevant areas of the music industry which includes careers within the recording, live music, publishing, and management sectors.
