Information Communication Technology AS/A-Level at Cranford Community College

Course description

Lessons involve both taught theory and practical activity. As part of the course, students will be required to complete projects that will involve developing computer systems using application packages. Students will be required to work independently on assignments and on developing practical skills outside of lessons.

Course content

All necessary resources will be provided to support you throughout the course, including a website with all class materials. The school has excellent ICT facilities and the students would be expected to make full use of these facilities both in the timetabled lessons and in their study period time.

This course will enable students to learn advanced ICT skills useful in both Higher Education and employment. Students will become advanced users of industry-standard software, find out how to use ICT to solve problems in business and industry and learn how to produce their own ICT solutions to business problems.

Entry requirements

Normally Cambridge Nationals Level 2 Merit, ICT or Computing C and a C in English and C in Maths.

Unit G061: Information, Systems and Applications 60%

Unit G062: Structured ICT Tasks 40%

A2:

Unit G063: ICT Systems, Applications and Implications 60%

Unit G064: ICT Project 40%
