Sales Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

Selling is part of our daily activities. We sell our views, our ideas and ourselves to colleagues and we often talk to sales people.

A sale is a very important process and good salesmanship involves helping customers to buy a product or service to meet their needs.

As a job this involves meeting people, building relationships, addressing challenges, being creative in offering solutions and thinking independently.

As an advanced apprentice you are likely to have a supervisory/team leading role in addition to your sales role.

Example job roles as an intermediate sales apprentice:

  • Sales Consultant
  • Sales Supervisor/Manager
  • Salesperson
  • Telesales Professional

Course content

Qualifications you will gain:

There are a number of elements to an apprenticeship and this is called the framework.

The apprenticeship framework has three main strands - technical element, competence based element and skills element.

For this apprenticeship the qualifications gained will be:

  • Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Sales
  • Level 3 Diploma in Sales
  • Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Mathematics

In addition you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.

Entry requirements

Progression onto this apprenticeship upon successful completion of the Intermediate Sales/Telesales Apprenticeship and the capability to achieve Functional Skills in English and Mathematics at Level 2 or previous experience in a sales role.

All applicants will be assessed at interview to ensure correct level of study.

Prior qualifications or experience in a relevant job will be taken into consideration.

Assessment

You will be required to compile an online portfolio of evidence demonstrating you knowledge and competence and all assessments will take place in the workplace. An Assessor will guide and support you to achieve this qualification.

Financial information

Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 years of age, whether you are just leaving school, seeking to start a new career or are moving into a new role with your existing employer that requires new skills.

As an apprentice you will earn a salary, whilst working alongside experienced colleagues at work and studying for your qualification.

Future opportunities

Progression onto a Level 4 or above in sales, marketing or management.
