Course description

Are you interested in a future working with computers, or a related area such as engineering? Then this course could be for you! This hands on subject will develop your knowledge of how computers work, and develop your IT, problem solving and computer system knowledge. Topics include:

- The principles of computer science

- Programming

- Algorithms and problem solving

- Games development

Course content

This course boasts both practical and theoretical experiences; under the guidance of our experienced and knowledgeable teachers you will put theory into practice. You will learn how to apply computational-thinking skills to solve problems, and apply your knowledge and experience of how computer systems work.

 

Entry requirements

Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.

General entry criteria will also apply, this is available on our website.

Financial information

You may progress to a future in IT, including an IT apprenticeship. This course lays a great foundation for further study at university for degrees such as Ethical Hacking or Computer Games Development.
