Course description

Business employers value employees who are able to communicate effectively both verbally and using electronic methods. The Level 3 Certificate provides opportunities for students to develop their communication skills which are invaluable for both future careers and with regard to progression into higher education.


The BTEC Level 3 Certificate is broadly equivalent to one AS-Level.

The specification is designed to appeal to students who are interested in a career in business.
 

Course content

The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Business is a 30-credit and 180-guided-learning-hour (GLH)

qualification that consists of Two mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 30 credits.

Entry requirements

At least five GCSE passes at grades A*to C, including English Language/Literature, and at least a grade D in Maths.

Future opportunities

If you study a Level 3 Certificate you will have the option of progressing to a Subsidiary Diploma, equivalent to a full A-Level, in your second year.

The 60 credit BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma extends the specialist work-related focus from the Level 3 Certificate and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the business sector. This qualification offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the optional units.
