Sport: Outdoor Education Level 3 Extended Diploma at Berkshire College of Agriculture

Course description

  • The Outdoor Education department was graded Outstanding by Ofsted in 2015

  • On site bouldering room as well as our own mobile climbing wall, archery range, high and low ropes and access to the 400 acre outdoor classroom that is our campus

For those students wishing to study Outdoor Education at Level 2, you can enrol on our Level 1/2 First Extended Certificate in Sport with Outdoor Education based practical modules. Progression from this course is on to the Level 3 Diploma in Outdoor Education.

Course content

This is a work related programme, learning by completing projects and assignments that are based on a career and working in the outdoor industry, with opportunities to work in the outdoor centre on campus and gain additional recognised qualifications. This course is ideal for those considering a career in Outdoor Education with a focus on leading sessions and activities.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs A*-C including English language and maths.

Future opportunities

The course is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels preparing the students to progress on to Higher Education studying Outdoor Education at University or on a Foundation Degree at BCA. In addition this course is perfect preparation for students wishing to go into a career in the Outdoor Education industry.

*There are options for learners to study a 1 year 60 credit subsidiary diploma or 90 credit diploma qualification.
