Technical and Professional (Civil Engineering) Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Bedford College
By following the Civil Engineering for Technicians pathway of this Apprenticeship you will develop the skills, knowledge and competence you will need to carry out the duties of a civil engineering technician in the workplace. This programme is designed to cover the skills and knowledge of a wide variety of civil engineering duties, including developing and finalising a wide range of civil engineering solutions. This Apprenticeship will take up to two years to complete, and you will normally be required to attend College for one day per week.
Within the College-based technical certificate you will study a wide range of topics, such as:
- Construction and the environment
- Mathematics in construction
- Science and materials
- Construction technology and design.
You will also study a selection of optional units relating to civil engineering practice.
To begin this Apprenticeship you must be employed full-time in a job role related to the course. You will also need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade A*-C (including Maths and Science), or a ConstructionSkills Level 2 Diploma in a construction trade.
On successful completion of this Apprenticeship you can progress on to a construction/civil engineering-related Foundation Degree, or seek further employment in the industry.
The College-based training will involve several projects relating to site experiences, which will cover the full range of work carried out by site personnel.
