Paint Refinishing VRQ including Customising Units Level 2 at Sandwell College

Course description

This one-year course is for 16-19 year olds who want to learn and develop lots of practical skills associated with the repair of vehicle bodies. The course is ideal for learners who have a Level 1 qualification already, or previous experience.

Course content

This is a full-time course of about 16 hours per week. Learners have the best opportunity to experience a wide variety of body repair activities. At the end of the programme you will achieve a Vocationally Related Qualification in Paint Refinishing at Level 2, along with one functional skill.

Entry requirements

Candidates attend a formal interview, followed by a college devised assessment. Learners who have previously passed a Level 1 Body Repair programme will be given automatic entry to this programme. Keenness and enthusiasm for the automotive trade are essential.

Assessment

Assessments vary from practicals, online testing, oral questioning and some assignment work. Support will be given to any learner if required.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course will give you automatic entry to the Level 3 programme. The Advanced Apprentice Programme is also an option.
