Site carpentry Diploma Level 3 at Bradford College

Course description

The course is assessed by continuous practical assessments, knowledge based assessments for each unit and an online exam.

Course content

This course is for you if you want to continue studying Site Carpentry.

You will continue to develop and study principles of building construction, information and communication and the following skills:

  • Principles of Organising,Planning and Pricing Construction Work
  • Carry Out First Fix Roofing and Stairs
  • Carry Out Second Fixing Double Doors and Mouldings
  • Set Up and Use Fixed and Transportable Machinery.

Entry requirements

You do not need to be employed.

A Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry/Bench Joinery or equivalent. Previous experience in the trade will also be considered by attending an interview.

Literacy and Numeracy skills at a minimum of Level 2. If you have no evidence to support this, you may be asked to carry out an assessment to confirm that you are at this level.

If you do not hold a Grade A*-C/8/9-4 in Mathematics or English you will study these subjects as part of your course. If you have a Grade D/3 or Level 2 Functional Skill you will work towards achieving a Grade A*-C/8/9-4.

You will also attend an information/taster session where you should show enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to succeed on the course.
