BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport at Craven Pupil Referral Service

Course description

The work will be organised inot 3 units and will be a combination of practical and theory based activities. You will learn: How the body works in sporting situations and how it is affected by exercise. How sports performers plan and prepare for their activities and how to plan training programmes for different sports. What is needed to be a successful sports leader and how to plan skill sessions and tournaments. How to use important skills which will prepare you for work, further education or training. How to assess and evaluate your work so that you can improve your skills. How will I be assessed? you will produce 2 assignments for each of the 3 units you cover. Each assignment will combine your practical skills and your understanding of the theory of sport. All assignments involve producing a written report (a booklet, revision guide, training programme). Your assignments will be marked by your teacher and then sent to the exam board for moderation.

Future opportunities

You could progress to study A Level Physical Education in the Sixth Form. This qualification supports progression into further education, training or employment. Also further Btec qualifications and N.V.Q.s
