Skills for Work NOCN Level 1 Certificate at Grantham College

Course description

You will develop the necessary skills to actively participate in the workplace. You will also continue to improve and develop your basic skills in addition to undertaking a work placement in a vocational area of your choice. If appropriate, individual support will be available.

Course content

The course offers a Diploma in Skills for Work, also the opportunity to develop and work towards nationally recognised qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy. The course consists of a number of work - related units:

  • Certificate in Food Hygiene
  • Health & safety
  • Information communications & technology
  • Introduction to work
  • Personalised action planning.

Entry requirements

A basic level of numeracy and communication skills.

Assessment

Continual assessment.

Financial information

Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.  Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.

Future opportunities

The course can provide progression to an NVQ Level 1 in an appropriate subject area or employment.
