The one-year AS course is comprised of five elements, assessed over two written examinations: 1. Imagined Worlds 2. Poetic Voices 3. Remembered Places 4. Re-creative Writing 5. Critical Commentary. The two-year A Level course is comprised of five elements in the A Level course, assessed over two written exams and one independent project: 1. Remembered Places 2. Imagined Worlds 3. Poetic Voices 4. Writing about Society 5. Critical Commentary 6. Dramatic Encounters 7. Making Connections. You will be examined at the end of the first year, anyone leaving the course at that point will get an AS Level qualification. To achieve the full A Level you will need to take all of the assessed units together at the end of the second year of the course, including topics taken in Year 12.
