Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 at Wollaston School

Course description

BTEC Performing Arts is designed for learners who have a keen interest in the Performing Arts and want to develop a range of skills for both practical performance and the performing arts industry. The focus is developing skills and knowledge of the working environment of performing artists with a hands - on, independent, practical approach to learning.

Course content

UNIT 1: Investigating Practitioners’ Work (External, 90 GLH)

UNIT 2: Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance (Internal, 90 GLH)

UNIT 3: Performance Workshop (External, 120 GLH)

UNIT 4: Performing Arts in the Community (Internal, 90 GLH)

UNIT 5: Individual Performance Commission (External, 120 GLH)

UNIT 6: Final Live Performance to an Audience (Internal, 90 GLH)

Future opportunities

Further study and career opportunities in performing arts include university or college degrees and diplomas in Musical Theatre, Acting, Physical Theatre, Dance, Stage Management, Technical Theatre, Directing, Arts Management. Opportunities for performance work exist through community arts groups and small theatre companies.
