Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 at Wollaston School
he content of this qualification has been designed to ensure it supports progression towards careers across the whole Health and Social Care industry as well as higher study at University. The course has been planned in close connection with potential employers and professional bodies to ensure that students develop the vocational skills required for this vast and growing industry.
The Health and social care industry is one of the fastest growing industries in modern society and provides great potential for employment at the end. New to the course is at least one exam (two for the Diploma) and this reflects the exams added to every Level 3 course in the Sixth Form.
The exams must be passed to gain any qualification in Health and Social Care. Other units are assessed via coursework which is set by the School or Exam board and assess the work taught in lessons. It is advised that students who did not pass the Health and Social care exam first time in year 10/11 will struggle with this qualification. Students must be able to use their initiative, work independently and show empathy and maturity to those around them in the wider community.
