Government and Politics A Level at Northgate High School

Course description

AS Level consists of: People and Politics Governing the UK A Level students take AS and then study: Introducing Political Ideologies Other Ideological Traditions

Course content

Topic booklets, group work, debate, discussions, documentaries, essay writing and trips. Complements Economics, Modern History, English Language, English Literature and Law. Alex’s experience: ‘Politics has been responsible for some of the most interesting and exciting lessons of my time at Northgate. From induction day alone it was clear that the teachers were passionate about the subject, with this one of the reasons I moved to Northgate’.

Entry requirements

Subject specific entry requirements: GCSE grade 6 in English Language or English Literature.

Future opportunities

A well respected A Level which will help to gain access to a variety of degree courses. Many students go on to study politics related courses at university level.
