Course description

The South West is a favourite tourist destination and is renowned for its hospitality. The catering and hospitality industry contributes significantly to the region’s economy and employs many people in a range of public sector organisations, such as hospitals and schools; and private sector businesses such as restaurants and hotels. We offer high quality training in this wide ranging industry that relies on high standards of professionalism. You could train as a chef or in food and drink production, in housekeeping, front of house reception or supervision and leadership.

Hospitality is all about customer service, whether this is making sure food is served on time or that a hotel room is ready to use.

Each Apprenticeship Framework includes its own specific qualifications for the role and area of business that you work in, but all Apprenticeship Frameworks include Functional Skills in English and Maths and Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

The level of Apprenticeship you can undertake will depend on your current skills and qualifications and the role offered by the employer.

  • Bar/cellar person

  • Regional supervisor/manager in a restaurant or pub chain
  • Team leader in hospitality retail outlets
  • Supervisor of hospitality retail outlets.
