Advanced GCE in Spanish at Cockermouth School

Course description

Will comprise of a further two modules assessed at the end of Year 13. In the Advanced level part of the course, students will be expected to develop a wider knowledge of vocabulary and linguistic structures. Students study three topics - Environment, The Multicultural Society and Contemporary Social Issues as well as two out of five cultural topics.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's A*-C and minimum of grade B at GCSE.


Continuous assessment by teachers throughout the course and a listening, reading and writing test after Unit  1 & 3 and a speaking test after units 2 and 4. 

Future opportunities

Commerce, industry, tourism, education, journalism, media, travel, literature, communications, finance.
