Course description

1: Social Issues and Trends Aspects of Hispanic Society Modern and traditional values (Los valores tradicionales y modernos) Cyberspace (El ciberspacio) Equal Rights (La iguiadad de los sexos)

2. Political and artistic culture Artistic culture in the Hispanic world. Modern day idols (Los influencia de los idolos) Spanish regional identity (La identidad regional en EspaƱa) Cultural heritage or cultural landscape (El patrimonio cultural)

3. Works Literary texts and films Students must study one text and one film from specified list.

Entry requirements

Access to the Sixth Form is based on prior academic achievement, behaviour and attendance records. Students must attain at least 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths. Some subjects may have specific criteria.


Paper 1:

Listening Reading and Writing Aspects of Hispanic Society, Artistic culture in the Hispanic world. and Grammar. Written Exam: 1hour 45 minutes. 80 marks 40% of AS

Paper 2: Writing One text or film from a given list and Grammar Written exam: 1hour 15 Minutes 60 Marks 30% of AS

Paper 3: Speaking One sub-theme from Aspects of Hispanic Society and one from Artistic culture in the Hispanic world. Oral exam: 12-14 minutes 60 marks 30% of AS
