City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector at Andover College

Course description

This course will give you an insight into all the career paths available within this vibrant industry. The department has two commercial themed salons fitted with excellent facilities to match that of industry, and four training salons all fitted with top of the range equipment. The staff are all fully trained to advanced level, and have considerable experience of working within the industry as salon owners, working in film and theatre, winning competitions and providing a fun and exciting environment.

To be a successful student you will need to have a keen interest in fashion, be a team player, enjoy working with members of the public, great communicator and listener and a happy personality.

At this level students must be able to self-study and commit to additional activities outside of the classroom.

We provide extracurricular enrichment such as: competition work, studio tours, involvement with productions, visit to industry shows, trips abroad, work experience, community projects, tasters in new products and techniques.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications required~ but an interest and enthusiasm for the subject is essential. This route is ideal for students without any prior experience and is the starting point into a career in Hairdressing~ Beauty Therapy~ Complementary Therapy orInterview Required: Yes
