Course description

Want to get started in the hospitality industry? You might want to work in a kitchen or front of house. Whatever area you’re interested in, this course will serve as an introduction to the industry and lead to either further study or a job that pays real money!

- Practical assessments
- Introduction to the catering and hospitality industry
- Food safety in catering
- Health and Safety awareness for catering and hospitality
- Introduction to personal workplace skills
- Prepare and cook food by boiling, poaching and steaming
- Prepare and cook food by baking, roasting and grilling
- Prepare and cook food by deep and shallow frying
- Cold food preparation
- Food and beverage service
- Hot beverages

Entry requirements

Hospitality is a service industry so you need to show:
- Record of Achievement showing excellent attendance and punctuality
- Total commitment, enthusiasm and motivation
- A personal interview
- 3 GCSE grades C/D
