Course description

A basic knowledge of the principles of nutrition could stand caterers in good stead or career opportunities, better job security, commercial opportunities and financial gains by better understanding the needs of their consumers. New CIEH Level 2 Award in Nutrition Awareness aims to provide candidates with a good basic understanding of nutrition to enable them to provide food that meets the requirements of a balanced diet.

The qualification provides an introduction to nutrition and focuses on six key areas:

The balance of good health

The relationship between diet and health

Dietary requirements of different groups

Catering for different groups

Effects of food processing
